About The Gabriel Commission

The Gabriel Commission recognizes the steady rise of rent in the Hot Springs area and is adamant on helping local families obtain affordable housing. Our organization will offer a two-year, income-based lease to widows, widowers, and single-parent families. Our goal is to help these families adjust to the growing cost of living in our area and set them towards long term housing options. 

• There are currently 115,342 or 28% of rental households in Arkansas that are classified as 'extremely low income.' 
• Arkansas is short 57,757 homes that are available or affordable to low-income renters. 
• The Fair Market Value of a two-bedroom home in Hot Springs is $1,037 per month. 
• The average income for an 'extremely low income' household generates only $1,908.25 a month before taxes are taken. 

Locally operated, our organization strives to get local businesses and the community involved to help these struggling families receive realistic rental options. Our organization has and will continue to hold multiple fundraisers throughout this year to purchase our first single-family residence by December of 2025.
